Battlefield 4 Screenshots Released Bit By Bit

After all of the Call of Duty news lately, it is a breath of fresh air to be given something Battlefield-related. While having been under the radar for some time considering the scale and brilliance of the unveiling of Battlefield 4, EA have finally decided to tease the fans of the first person shooter to let them know they are not hiding. The company has started up a small viral campaign to get more screenshots released.
What was found on the Battlefield Twitter page was a very short and very sweet tweet. It consisted of these words: “#BF4 screens inbound” and links to the Battlefield Facebook pages and Tumblr pages. Below that was an image that was an ‘encoded’ screenshot. In other words, it has sections missing that can be found on each social networking site and, presumably, those images will be put together to form a full image. Here is the Twitter image:

If the post is retweeted, shared or reblogged, according to which page you read, a “part two” will be released. This is likely to be more images that need to be placed together to form another screen. Here is the original tweet for those who dn’t want to open the link above:

So the Battlefield 4 cogs have started up. This game will be released this year in addition to the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts, with both games featuring a new engine (in Battlefield’s case Frostbite 3 while the Call of Duty engine name is currently unknown).
Battlefield 4 will be released on PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 360, PC and is almost certainly coming to Microsoft’s next generation Xbox. A poster from EB games recently leaked a release date of October 31, just days before the release of Call of Duty, assuming the poster was not fake.
