Yet another Game of Thrones actor has been cast in a major superhero film! Jason Momoa, best known for his role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, is set to join the cast of Guardians of The Galaxy to play the comic book character, Drax The Destroyer.
Coming from Latino Review’s sources, the actor’s screen test for the part prompted Marvel offer him the part there and then. Being Hollywood, the actor is in negotiations over a counter-offer!
Drax The Destroyer was a human whose family was murdered by Thanos (or for non-comic book nerds, the big purple guy at the end of Avengers!). His spirit is then placed inside a stronger body, creating Drax The Destroyer.
Guardians of The Galaxy is slated for a 1st of August 2014 release date and is being directed by James Gunn. The film also stars Chris Pratt as protagonist Star-Lord.
Is this a good casting choice or is it a misstep for the Marvel film?
