Sony Splits From All-Stars Dev SuperBot Entertainment

After releasing Playstation All-Stars: Battle Royale for both Playstation 3 and Vita platforms, SuperBot Entertainment has had their working relationship with Sony Computer Entertainment terminated.
According to Kotaku, a Sony representative said “Sony Computer Entertainment can confirm that the working agreement with developer SuperBot Entertainment has amicably ended… PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale and the title’s forthcoming DLC releases will continue to be fully supported by Santa Monica Studio.”
Soon after reaching out to SuperBot, Kotaku received a statement from them. Here it is:
“SuperBot Entertainment can confirm that the relationship with SCEA has ended on good terms. We are extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work on with Sony on Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, and are extremely proud of the work we have done. SuperBot Entertainment will continue working on projects that reflect our passion for games and our commitment to creating award winning titles. We are very excited about beginning the next chapter of our future and invite all of our fans and supporters to follow our journey.”
This response makes clear that the developer will not have to shut up shop as a result and will move on to a new game. The move oculd even be more beneficial for them in the long term.
Santa Monica Studios are currently finishing up on God of War: Ascension, are said to have a new IP in the pipeline and now have the DLC for All Stars added to their workload. Could the developer split their resources and make a full sequel to All-Stars? Does the sound of God of War mechanics on an All-Stars game sound too good to be true?
